The Welsh Mountain Zoo, also known as the National Zoo of Wales, is the oldest and most established zoo in Wales, founded by the Jackson family in 1963. It sits on a 37-acre hillside site above Colwyn Bay with views of the coastline and the Carneddau mountains. The zoo is home to animals including snow leopards, red pandas and meerkats.

- Approximately 70% of animal habitats can be accessed by wheelchair users with the support of a companion or carer. A free accessibility-focused map is available on arrival. Manual wheelchairs are available to borrow free of charge from the Zoo office. Carers accompanying guests with accessibility needs are admitted free of charge. Fully trained registered assistance dogs are welcome and can access all public areas; the policy does not extend to Therapy or Comfort Dogs.

- A free central car and coach park and overflow field parking with a separate entrance on busy days. There is space in the centre of the Zoo for disabled guest parking.
