About this day out
The Aberfeldy Watermill Bookshop, Gallery & Cafe is a three-storey former oatmeal mill in the Highland Perthshire town of Aberfeldy, opened in 2005 by Michael Palin. The independent bookshop, full of nooks and crannies with a dedicated children's room, won UK Independent Bookshop of the Year in 2009 and was included in the New Yorker's 75 Greatest Bookshops in the World in 2016. The site also features an art gallery in the Old Barn with a changing programme of exhibitions and the Homer homeware shop across the street.
