The experience
About this day out
The Scottish Crannog Centre, on the shores of Loch Tay in Perthshire, explores 2,500-year-old Iron Age loch-dwellings known as crannogs. Its museum holds the Nationally Significant Oakbank Collection of ancient artefacts, and visits include guided tours plus interactive demonstrations of ancient crafts and technologies in a newly built Iron Age Village. The original reconstructed crannog was destroyed by fire in 2021 and has been rebuilt, with the first of three new crannogs now complete.
