About this day out

The National Centre for Birds of Prey is an award-winning visitor attraction at the Duncombe Park estate in Helmsley, within the North York Moors National Park. It houses the largest collection of birds of prey in the north of England, from the tiny Burrowing Owl to the Steller's Sea Eagle, with spectacular flying demonstrations every day. Visitors can also stroll through the 300 acres of woodland and parkland surrounding the centre.

Accessibility
Full disabled access throughout the site with dedicated disabled toilet facilities; paths are compacted fine gravel with no steps anywhere on site. Wheelchair-friendly with space at flying demo areas, and a free off-road wheelchair available for loan (first-come-first-served). Staff and volunteers can assist; one aviary block is down a steepish slope.
Parking
Car park available, including dedicated disabled parking spaces.
Dogs
No dogs (including assistance dogs) are allowed within the centre grounds as they can frighten the birds, but admission includes the surrounding Duncombe Park parkland which is great for dog walking; shop staff can dog sit well-behaved guide dogs.
