About this day out
The University Museum of Zoology showcases the diversity of animal life with galleries featuring specimens ranging from marsupials to monkeys and mammoths to manatees. Visitors can view a 21m Fin whale skeleton hanging from the ceiling in the Whale Hall and explore stories of extinction, survival, evolution, and exploration.

- The main entrance is accessible via ramp or steps with handrails. Automatic glass doors provide entry. A lift provides access to the upper gallery, lower gallery, and cafe, but not the mezzanine level. Wheelchairs are available to borrow. Guide dogs, hearing dogs, and dogs for the disabled are welcome. Induction loops are available in the Demonstration Room and Discovery Space.
- Parking
- No general visitor parking. One accessible parking bay is available on site (not bookable). Limited blue badge parking is located in the Grand Arcade car park and on Trumpington Street.
- Dogs
- Only guide dogs, hearing dogs, and dogs for the disabled are allowed.
