The Matthew is a modern reconstruction of the 15th-century caravel sailed by John Cabot to Newfoundland in 1497. Opening hours
Summer (April–October): Tuesday to Sunday 10am to 4pm (last entry 3:30pm). Winter (November–March): Saturdays & Sundays 11am to 3pm (last entry 2:30pm). Closed on Mondays throughout the year.
Accessibility
Accessibility is limited due to the ship's design. Boarding is via a wheelchair-accessible ramp and a 710mm wide gate. There are no accessible toilet facilities as they are located below decks via steep steps. Assistance dogs are welcome.
