The experience
About this day out
The Harwich Lifeboat Museum is housed in the old lifeboat house of 1876 and displays the 1968 Oakley Class lifeboat 'Valentine Wyndham Quinn', which visitors can see at close quarters, including a walk through its wheelhouse. Exhibits include story boards and artefacts on the history of Harwich lifeboats since 1876, along with photographs, models and a video presentation. The RNLI boarding boat 'City of Leicester', which served the Walton Lifeboat Station from 1932 to 1985, is on display outside the museum.
