The experience
About this day out
Hedingham Castle is a Norman castle built around 1140 by Aubrey de Vere, the first Earl of Oxford, standing in the heart of its ancient ramparts and medieval parkland which have evolved into landscaped gardens. It is privately owned by the Lindsay family, descendants of the Earls of Oxford who built it, and is a significant historical site with a history spanning 900 years. The Georgian House was added in 1719 by Sir William Ashurst, and the estate is now the family home of Jason Lindsay and his family.
