Accessibility
The Stables on the ground floor is suitable for wheelchair users, while access to The Cottage is currently limited to smaller wheelchairs due to the layout of the historic buildings. The Hayloft is located on the first floor and can only be reached by stairs. If you are unable to access the Hayloft, our team will be happy to show you photographs and information about the exhibits located there. Assistance animals may also be admitted, and visitors are encouraged to speak to the steward on duty if they have any particular access requirements. We ask that you leave buggies and pushchairs outside the museum. If you have any large bags or rucksacks, these can be left at reception – at the discretion of the steward on duty.
Parking
If you are driving there is very little parking close to the Museum, the nearest car parks are in Union Street/the London Inn and in Imperial Road outside the Leisure Centre and close to the Railway Station. There is some on street parking off Exeter Road but it’s in high demand and may only be for a short period.
Dogs
Dogs may be admitted by discretion of stewards especially if carried or assistant animals. Please check.
