Cheddar Gorge is a dramatic limestone gorge in the Mendip Hills, Somerset, designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Attractions include Gough's Cave, Cox's Cave, the Museum of Prehistory, Jacob's Ladder, a Lookout Tower, escape rooms, and a cliff-top walk. It is a renowned destination for caving and rock climbing.

Day tickets from £20.40 adult / £15.30 child (Great British Summer Savings until 1 Sep 2026). Groups (15+): Adults £18.20, Children (3–15) £13.65, Under 3s free. Cave and a Cake (coach tours): £18.45pp pre-booked. Parking £6/day (£4 from 3pm–9pm).
Opening hours
Off Peak: 10am–4pm (last entry 3.30pm); Peak: 10am–5pm (last entry 4.30pm). Closed Christmas.
Accessibility
Partnered with Nimbus Disability; Access Card and free Digital Access Pass available for essential companion tickets. Audio guides in English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, Dutch, Polish, Russian and Mandarin; Braille versions at Gough's Cave. Sensory bags with ear defenders and fidget toys borrowable from Guest Services (£10 refundable deposit). Much of the site is inaccessible to wheelchair users due to rocky paths, cliff edges and steep sections, including the caves, Cliff-top Walk and Lookout Tower.
